Hot fill masterbatch

In a hot-fill process, the food is pasteurized prior to filling and it is assumed that the temperature given to the food will also pasteurize the container. A hot fill process will require the short hold time at high temperature so the surfaces of the inside container are pasteurized. The temperatures required for this process are 85°C or higher and a hot-holding period may be required before the container is cooled. The material used to package hot filled products must ensure integrity when exposed to high temperatures. Some advantages of hot-filling pasteurization are its simplicity as the product and container are pasteurized together and aseptic filling is not necessary. 

Generally, The PET resin begins softening in the temperature of 70 degC or higher temperature. This softening temperature is so called TG (grass transition temperature) of PET. Supposing that when PET bottle leaving in more than 70 degC atmosphere, the bottle neck will start softening and almost the dimensions will shrink also the deformation of the neck finish will be occur at the same time. Generally, The PET resin begins softening in the temperature of 70 degC or higher temperature.
